I had flown into San Diego a number of times, back with the Feds and on charters. I always thought it was a beautiful city and Wendy would enjoy it. Too early for motorcycling in Canada, March is a great time to see California.
Unfortunately, we picked St. Patricks Day, and the budget hotel we stayed in was right downtown; in all the action. Who knew San Diego had the largest St. Patrick's Day celebration in the United States? Who knew college kids from thousands of miles away would come to downtown San Diego to play at being Irish till the wee hours?
But we had a great time none the less. Managed a boat tour of the harbour, had a distant look at the largest naval base of the United States Navy, ate some fantastic seafood, even bought a T-shirt.
